Hi gang:
I'm new to the forum, and have appreciated the valuable info which I've read. I've decided to move up from my lawn/garden machines into something more substantial (10 acres: 5 field, 5 lawn) and just received a quote from a local JD dealer on a 4115 (I'd like to go bigger, but my equipment shed is just a shade too short to hold a 4210 with an attached snowblower).
Here's the quote (including his 'incentives'):
4115 w/folding ROPS, Industrial R4s, DL SCV $12,800
60" Mid Mount Mower $ 1,799
47" Snowblower (with a remote spout kit $100) $ 2,399
Bush Hog SQ 600 (Slip Clutch) $ 999
Thanks for any help you can provide.

Before I decided to stay smaller and go w/ the 2210, I got a quote on the 4115. My dealer had one of the best prices I've seen on a 2210, so I would think what they quoted me would be pretty good. For a 60" MMM and 410 loader, they quoted me $16,700 before tax. I think the 410 loader was $2300 or so. Talking that off, I was quoted at $14,300. From what I've seen, the prices of implements is usually close. The differences come in the tractor price. ....

Thanks, Russell.
Looks like mine is 4 to 5 hundred dollars higher than your price. Is that likely attributable to dealer incentives in "off" seasons, or just an indicator that I need to negotiate better? ....

The price I was quoted was with the $750 "dealer incentive" for the 4115. It might pay to check if the quote you recieved included it.
Many people will drive farther to get a better price. You could call all the dealers in your area until you get a better price. One guy in TX called my dealer in here in SC to get the quote for the price that I got. He then called his local dealer and they matched it. I'm guessing he didn't mention that the quote was 1000 miles away! : ) ....

Thanks Again.
I think I'll do some serious calling around and price checking.
Does anyone have a dealer in their locale who is known for offering great prices? ....

I definetly recommend checking around for prices. Unfortunetly, in my area (southwest Michigan) the John Deere dealers were way overpriced and rather unfriendly! Reminded me of buying a Harley. I visited 4 different John Deere dealers and compared to the prices on this forum I thought they were high. I got a couple of quotes on the 4115.
John Deere 4115, w/R4 tires, 410 loader, 60" midmower = $18090 (dealer 1) and $18,400 (dealer 2) + tax.
I also visited, called, emailed a bunch of Kubota & New Holland dealers both in state and out of state. Most of the dealerships were close, but I ended up saving over $2,000 on a KubotaB7800 by checking around. I felt like it was luck of the draw, fortunetly the dealership I bought mine from was only 33 miles away.
Later on,
Charles ....
